Is this qualification officially recognised?

Yes. The NEBDN Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing (RQF) is regulated under the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and accredited by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) — the UK's leading awarding body for dental nursing qualifications.

Will I be able to register with the GDC after completing the course?

Yes. Successful completion of this diploma qualifies you to apply for registration with the General Dental Council (GDC), which is a legal requirement to practise as a dental nurse in the UK.

How many hours of study are required per week?

Study hours are flexible and self-directed. Because the course is self-paced, you can choose how much time you dedicate each week. Most learners find that a consistent weekly commitment helps them complete within their chosen timeframe.

How long does the course take to complete?

The course takes, on average, as little as 6 months to up to 12 months to complete, depending on your pace and prior commitments. You have full flexibility to work at a speed that suits your lifestyle.

What support is available during the course?

You will have access to regular group support sessions as well as the option to book one-to-one sessions with your assessor for personalised guidance. Well-being resources are also embedded throughout the course to help you manage stress and maintain balance during your studies.

What career opportunities are available after qualifying?

With your NEBDN diploma and GDC registration, you will be qualified to work as a dental nurse in NHS or private dental practices across the UK. The qualification also provides a strong foundation for further professional development within the dental field, such as post-qualification courses, developing your role into management, or applying to the university and becoming a Hygienist/ Therapist.
